Resources for Learning

For the past few months whilst I’ve been studying at University I’ve been practicing my Java on the side, and I’ve collated together a list of resources and YouTube channels that have assisted me and I hope will help me throughout this process of trying to get better at Java and programming in general.

At any point, if I find any other resources I’ll be sure to share them and if my really amazing memory helps I’ll come back to this list and update it:

  • https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_fFL5jgoCOrwAVoM_fBYwA (Alex Lee = Really helpful videos regarding Java, short but informative)
  • https://www.sololearn.com/ (Recommended to me by my programming lecturer, contains challenges throughout to test your knowledge from each session)
  • https://www.codewars.com/ (I have 0 experience with this one, I’m hoping to use it more over the summer, it contains a bunch of languages to learn, so if Java doesn’t catch your eye hopefully something on there will!)
  • https://edabit.com/challenges/java (This one is one of my favorites, contains a bunch of challenges to test and improve your knowledge, each challenge has a discussion board where you can discuss your solution or ask questions)
  • https://www.youtube.com/c/JavaBrainsChannel (Having a Java Brain doesn’t sound too fun but all of these videos are super informative and detailed!)
  • https://www.freecodecamp.org/ (Educational site looking at multiple aspects of Programming, contains courses which when completed award you with a certificate, I’m going to be starting my journey over summer off with this site, the first one takes you 300 hours to complete wow!)

That’s all for now, hopefully, I’m able to find more over the summer!

Liam
